  4. Hex FileView is a Windows program and requires Windows 3.1 or later.

  7. INSTALLING THE PROGRAM
  8.  
  9. If you have the installation files shown below on floppy disks,
  10. then insert disk 1 and from the program managers file menu choose
  11. run and type a:setup and press enter.  (This assumes that a: is
  12. the drive letter of the drive that contains these files).
  13.  
  14. If you downloaded these files from a BBS then you may need to copy the
  15. program, text and support files to a separate directory on your hard
  16. disk  Example: c:\viewer  (see your DOS manual for information on
  17. creating directories and copying files).  After copying the files, go
  18. to the program managers file menu and select New - Program Item - Ok
  19. and type in for the command line c:\viewer\fileview and press Ok.

  35. Note: If the above files have file extensions with an understrike
  36. as the last character (Example: FILEVIEW.EX_), then the files are
  37. compressed and can be uncompressed using the DOS program EXPAND.EXE
  38. or automatically using the setup program SETUP.EXE.  The setup
  39. files are optional.  When they are not included it is to save
  40. download time on BBSs.
